The line on the right led to Broadstone Juction and on to the S&DJR or Wimborne and then Salisbury or Ringwood.

The headcode at this point would normally describe Bournemouth Central - Weymouth which is the route to the left.

Robert Waterman says "I am not aware of the King Arthurs working over the S&D and I think they were also banned over the Salisbury via Verwood road, but I'm not sure. This headcode east of Bournemouth described through inter-regional via Reading/Basingstoke services. The only explanation I can think of is that this is one such service which has been diverted via the 'old road' through Wimborne from Lymington Junction to approach Bournemouth from the west for some reason. Often when diversions took place the headcode wasn't changed from that of the normal route - there was a specific one from Brockenhurst this way but only from Brockenhurst".
