NSR 119 1910s Tutbury

NSR 119 1910s Tutbury

North Staffordshire Railway Dodds 'E' class 0-6-0 No. 119. Built by Beyer Peacock of Manchester in April 1874 and withdrawn in December 1926 as LMS No. 2335. Images of NSR locomotives at work are scarce, so this fine view of 119 purposefully striding through Tutbury with a short freight, probably circa 1920 is most welcome! The leading vehicle is a PO owned by Chance & Hunt of Oldbury who were industialists in the chemical, coal and salt supply fields. The tall chimney behind belongs to Nestle's Tutbury dairy factory, making tinned milk from 1901 - so now you now!
