Heading north, Leicester GC shed closed in early July 64 so this is going through to Nottingham. This was 15th August 1964, the last day that this working ran that year.

Roman Schmidt reminds me " Could this shot be the celebrated occasion when on the 15th August 1964, 6858 Woolston Grange worked a Bournemouth West-Leeds service right through to Huddersfield?! Apparently such was the consternation on its arrival, the engine was immediately 'impounded' and consigned to Hillhouse MPD, where it remained until the early hours of 26th August, when it departed light engine for Oxley under strict running conditions."

Vic Smith replies " All the features of locomotive, ie lamps, smokebox markings & door handles confirm this as the fateful date of 15 August 1964. The loco was to continue forward past Nottingham & Sheffield before being removed at Huddersfield after the cylinder casing rearranged the platform edge at Berry Brow station".
