Stanier Coronation 4-6-2 No 46244 King George VI approaches Perth station with the 1.26pm Carlisle to Perth train in Spring 1963. A nice photo for modellers showing how dirty the top of a boiler was even with a clean top link loco (if this was the more usual trackside or platform level view this would not be apparant). Also note the 'periscope' look outs on the BR Mk1 above the brake compartment.
