LMS Fairburn 2-6-4T No 42697 in the late 1950s before it left the Scottish Region at Shields Road station. To the right of the signals, the retaining wall is for General Terminus Junction. The buildings on the far right is the ex G&SWR station, the train is on what was the Glasgow City Union lines with the ex Caley lines to Glasgow Central out of shot on the left. The line to General Terminus Quay is roughly underneath the loco.
