LNER designed Thompson 'B1' class 4-6-0 No. 61329. Built by NBL of Glasgow in June 1948 and withdrawn in April 1966.

This 1960s photograph of 61329 gives an excellent impression of the view to be seen looking North towards York's magnificent station. It also serves to illustrate how the smaller diameter smokebox fitted to some'B1s' gave them a quite different appearance!
