62496 1950s Eastfield MPD

62496 1950s Eastfield MPD

Ex-North British Railway Reid 'K' (LNER 'D34') class 4-4-0 No. 62496 'Glen Loy'. Built at Cowlairs in August 1920 as NBR No. 494 and withdrawn in November 1961.

The distinctive clock tower at Glasgow's Eastfield MPD indicates a late morning turntable manoeuvre for 'Glen Loy' in this 1950s scene. Glen Loy and River Loy are in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland, they connect with the eastern end of the Great Glen.
