LNER designed Thompson 'B1' class 4-6-0 No. 61349. Built at Gorton in July 1949 and withdrawn in August 1966.

Alongside the shed building at St. Margarets MPD were these dead end roads that backed onto the inconveniently close tenement flats. Hanging out washing to dry must have been a nightmare for the occupants in the days long before modern appliances might avoid that need. On a dreary July day in 1964 61349 has 'V2' 60931 for company on their home shed.
