North Eastern Railway designed Worsdell 'J72' class 0-6-0 Tank No. 542. Built at Doncaster in Dec. 1925 and withdrawn in Sept. 1960 as BR No. 68749. In June 1932 at Sunderland MPD amidst piles of ash, we have 'J72' No. 542 in company with 'G5' No. 1920 and 'J21' No. 776. Also seen (just!) are two Sentinel steam railcars inside the steam shed, not an ideal environment for either the varnished paintwork or the interior.
