910 1924 Scarborough MPD
The North Eastern Railway's '901' class of 2-4-0s (just) survived into the LNER era and although many modifications from Alfred Fletcher's original design were undertaken, nonetheless No. 910 was still a magnificent example of 1875 built Victoriana. In sight of local landmark Oliver's Mount, it is at Scarborough MPD after arrival from York in 1924. No. 910 would be withdrawn the following year and in an enlightened move by the LNER she was fully restored to her original condition and magnificent NER livery and is now preserved in the national collection.
