On an unidentified day in the 1960s, 'Golden Eagle' catches the afternoon sun in York MPD yard. Also glinting nicely is 'Silurian' a locomotive allocated to York for its entire life. The Clifton carriage sheds are seen behind the locomotives with the ECML passing between. 60023 was built at Doncaster in Dec. 1936 as LNER No. 4482 and was withdrawn in October 1964. 60121 was also built at Doncaster in Dec. 1948 and withdrawal came in Oct. 1965.
