4425 1930s Stratford Works

Not too many photographs have emerged taken of any ex-GNR Ivatt 'C2s' at the ex-Great Eastern Railway's Works or running shed in Stratford. This is 'C2' No. 4425 receiving attention in the 1930s alongside ex-Great Eastern Railway Holden 'J67' 0-6-0 Tank No. 7354. The longevity of 7354 was from March 1900 (as GER No. 354) to October 1955 as BR No. 68531. The newer locomotive 4425, was built at Doncaster in April 1906 (as GNR No. 1425) but suffered the earlier withdrawal in January 1947.
