Note the scissors crossover, an exotic and expensive to maintain piece of P Way for a branch. On the left is the ex-L&NWR line to Ruthin, Denbigh and Rhyl which had been closed in April 1962, having lost its passenger service in 1953; the one on the right is the GWR line to Ruabon.
