Peter Kerslake adds "Evening Star was re-allocated from Cardiff Canton to Bath just for the 1962 Summer Services, so this picture must date from between August and September 1962, The first of the 9F 2-10-0s had arrived on the Somerset and Dorset in March 1960 to assist in working the 1960 Summer Timetable and to hopefully reduce the high level of double-heading of through passenger workings between Bournemouth and Bath in both directions."
