75026 1960s where?

75026 1960s where?

Looks like Carnforth in 1968. Emerging from Swindon Works newly built in late 1954 this engine, in company with 75025 and 75028 was allocated to Plymouth's Laira Depot from where she was evaluated on pilot duties to express passenger workings between Plymouth and Newton Abbot over Hemerdon , Rattery and Dainton banks , supplementing the Laira and Newton Abbot Manors on such duties . As the need for pilot duties diminished when the main line express Diesels entered service in the late ' fifties a number of this batch of these Standard Class Fours went to mid Wales to work over the former Cambrian lines on passenger duties to and from Shrewsbury , inluding the Cambrian Coast Express , where they were well received by the Cambrian footplate crews . Displaced from their Cambrian duties in mid January of 1965 nine of the class ended their days here on Shap Fell engaged on banking duties , working from Tebay.
