BR class 31 A1A-A1A No D5828 passes Cambridge North Junction with an Up freight on 6th May 1967. This illustrates the track layout at the station perfectly, with the long main line platform, Bays to the north (and south) plus the freight lines curving around the carriage sidings. The former steam shed was beyond the stabled diesels where the cars are parked.
