London, Brighton & South Coast Railway Stroudley 'D1' class 0-4-2 Tank No. 699. Built at Brighton in June 1876 as LB&SCR No. 36 and named 'New Cross' until March 1909. Withdrawn in February 1948 still as SR No. 2699.

The 125 Stroudley 'D1s' were a hugely successful class that had 17 (just) surviving into the BR era. Many changes and modifications were made over the years and several even worked on ex-HR lines Scotland in WW2. Here's 699 in somewhat faded umber livery in October 1920 at Clapham Junction.
