30125 1962-03-04 Exmouth Junction MPD

Ex-London & South Western Railway Drummond 'M7' class 0-4-4 Tank No. 30125. Built at Eastleigh in June 1911 as L&SWR No. 125 and withdrawn in December 1962.

Dugald Drummond 'M7s' were truly ubiquitous locomotives and were to be found across much of the ex-Southern Railway's system. 105 were built between 1897 and 1911 at Nine Elms (95) and Eastleigh (10) and the last survivor went in 1965. Two are preserved, 30053 and 30245. Here is 30125 in the sun, outside Exmouth Junction MPD in March 1962.
