Southern Railway Bulleid 'Merchant Navy' class 4-6-2 No. 21C2 'Union Castle'. Built at Eastleigh in June 1941, rebuilt in May 1958 with conventional valve gear and modified outline. Withdrawn in Feb. 1964 as BR No. 35002. The futuristic front profile of 'Union Castle' draws admiring glances from a young 'spotter' at Salisbury, Wiltshire in 1946.
