Ex-Southern Railway Bulleid 'West Country' class 4-6-2 No. 34038 'Lynton'. Built at Brighton in Sept. 1946 as SR No. 21C138 and withdrawn in June 1966. Bournemouth MPD was one of the few really helpfully placed sheds for the 'spotter'. It was opposite the long platform extending from Bournemouth Central Station that offered a grandstand view of the whole site. This 1960s view from across the tracks in the shed yard just concentrates on 'Lynton'.
