Ex-Sourthern Railway Maunsell 'U1' class 2-6-0 No. 31907. Built at Eastleigh in Se[tember 1931 as SR No. 1907 and withdrawn in December 1962. Under a fine May sky in March 1957 at Herne Bay, 31907 lays a steamy plume over the Kent countryside.
Headcode says this has come via Sidcup (Dartford Loop Line), probably from Victoria as a Stewarts Lane loco, and is on the 1 in 93 section of Blacksole Bank east of Herne Bay heading for Margate or Ramsgate.
