The 105 Dugald Drummond London & South Western Railway 'M7' 0-4-4 Tanks built 1897-1911, were a highly successful and (mostly) long-lived class. Several modifications and detail differences (e.g. push-pull fitted) were carried out over the years. The last in sevice was not withdrawn until 1965. Two are preserved. This fine portrait was taken at Fratton MPD, Portsmouth in August 1954.
