Ex-LMS Fowler '4P' class 2-6-4 Tank No. 42402. Built at Derby in September 1933 as LMS No. 2402 and withdrawn in October 1962.

A fine 1950s view of a down 'local' passenger train leaving Preston with 42402 at its helm. Another train standing in the adjacent platform, has attracted the attention of a small boy whose father is intent on capturing the scene on his camera. I wonder if his photo still exists?
