Ex-LMS Fowler '4P' class 2-6-4 Tank No. 42359. Built At Derby in July 1929 as LMS No. 2359 and withdrawn in October 1964.

This July 1963 rural scene is at Broughton, some 4 miles north of Preston. 42359 is heading for ex-Furness Railway metals with a Preston to Barrow-in-Furness 'local'. She will leave the WCML at Carnforth and skirt Morecambe Bay for most of her route, a most picturesque 70-mile journey.
