Steam ended early on ex-GER lines, all of it disappearing before 1963. Here J69 No 68497 rests between duties at Bury St Edmund shed in April 1954. Built by GER in 1890, It was withdrawn (from Mexborough, 41F) in October 1960 although some records have it going to Sheffield Grimesthorpe for its last month.
