Ex-Great Eastern Railway J. Holden 'R24 Rebuilt' (LNER 'J69') class 0-6-0 Tank No. 68570. Built at Stratford in January 1896 as GER No. 394 and withdrawn in September 1961.

This is the former GNR's Boston MPD in Lincolnshire and 68570 is in company with ex-GNR Ivatt 'J3' 0-6-0 No. 64131 and another 'J69' No. 68499 (fitted with a dreadful 'stovepipe' chimney). 68570 is on what was known as the ‘back roads’ at Boston Loco. The building behind was the original GNR Works lifting shops used from 1848 to 1852 when HQ moved to Doncaster. The shops continued to be used for minor repairs up until closure of the sheds in Jan 1964. These buildings were demolished around c1980.

Some works building still survive and are now used by the NHS and a local gym, these were in the Engineers Yards; a separate complex north of the loco where items such as gates, fencing and permanent way huts were manufactured.
