Allocated to Swindon 82C shed, GWR 28XX 2-8-0 No 2879 with an up freight on the sea wall at Teignmouth on 2 September 1958.

Peter Kerslake adds "2879, a Swindon based engine in the mid 'fifties, heads away from Teignmouth at Sprey Point.
This location was the site of a massive rock fall from the cliffs above in 1839 when work was underway on constructing the line which opened in 1846 but rather than clear away all the fallen rock Brunel levelled it, walled it round to form today's Sprey Point.
There had been a popular little cafe here between the first and second wars, run by Norman Boyce and his wife Jessie but it was vandalised by serving soldiers from Durham in 1940 and sadly never reopened but a stone hut survived, used by workmen on the line."
