2803 1955-05-08 Cholsey
A reminder of the inefficiencies of the steam railway; GWR 28XX 2-8-0 No 2803 and two other 28XX and pair of Moguls running through Cholsey cutting on 8 May 1955. All are in steam and each has a driver and a fireman. There was an in-balance of freight traffic as empty Down trains could handle more wagons resulting in moves such as this, many at night so photographically un-recorded.
