Typical early 1950s drabness.
It was the engine that prompted me to risk this difficult shot , I recall , with that distinctive smokebox door numberplate , and certainly not the location , as it was wet and very dark , but Kings Cross was like that , and even at the platform end things got a bit crowded .
Not at all like Paddington !
