60890 1961-07-23 Wellingborough

No.60890 was the day's most exotic vistor on 23rd July 1961. However V2s were not unknown at Wellingborough shed and it was far from a unique visit. How they got there and their reason for the visits is a bit of a mystery. They are most likely to have come over from Peterborough on the London & North Western line as it is doubtful if they would have worked over the GN & LNWR joint line to Market Harborough. The mystery is not helped by No.60890 being allocated to Leicester Great Central shed at this date.
