Southern Railway designed BR Bulleid 'D16/2' class 1Co-Co1 Diesel-Electric No. 10202. Built at Ashford in May 1951 and withdrawn in Dec. 1963. Three of these prototype diesel-elecrics were built with engines and transmission supplied by English Electric. Originally allocated to BR's Southern Region, 10202 was transferred to Willesden in April 1955. Being a non-standard type, and relegated to secondary passenger and freight duties, all three were withdrawn in 1963. At Ashton in Northants, 10202 heads a nine-coach train in August 1959.
