D9008 delivered in July 1961 as seen on 24 November 1961 passes an impressive collection of semaphores at Hatfield on the 07.50 Newcastle to Kings Cross service. It was not named until September 1963. This image was used, heavily cropped, on the cover of the Eastern Region staff magazine in January 1962.
