Rhymney 1963-07-28

Looking towards Dowlais with the DMU re-fuelling point just visible in the distance. I wonder how long it lasted? The stations woodwork is painted an interesting blue colour as this is before the intoduction of corporate colours and 'Rail Blue' paint. Keith Morris says "The refueling point was built on the site of the closed line to Rhymney Bridge on the LNWR head of the Valleys line. Was moved after the steam shed adjacent to the station was closed and demolished around 1965 I think."
