Most pre-grouping railways utilised the 'Atlantic' (4-4-2) Tank type. Lesser railways such as the Midland & Great Northern were no exception. This 'A' class No.9 (LNER 'C17') is featured in this fine portrait, taken circa 1912 at Yarmouth Beach MPD. It had tbeen built at Melton Constable Works in 1910 and was withdrawn in 1944 as LNER No.09.
