2392 1947 Leeds Neville Hill MPD

2392 1947 Leeds Neville Hill MPD

Ex-North Eastern Railway Worsdell 'R' (LNER 'D20') class 4-4-0 No. 2392. Built at Gateshead in Sept. 1907 as NER No. 1235 and withdrawn in May 1954 as BR No. 62392. A rather nice 1947 portrait of 2392 and crew adjacent to the coaling plant at Leeds Neville Hill MPD (ex-NER) on the eastern side of the city. The delights of East End Park are behind the spiked railings and this was (and still is) a good vantage point to see the comings and goings at the shed.
