2106 1935 Darlington MPD

A grand study taken at Darlington MPD in 1935 of one of Wilson Worsdell's highly regarded ex-North Eastern Railway 'R' class 4-4-0s (LNER 'D20') No. 2106 and her crew. The first of this sixty strong class, (No. 2011) worked a double schedule, two crews working from Newcastle to Edinburgh and Leeds every day for six days a week. In its first two years, No. 2011 achieved the amazing mileage of 284,182 miles before its general overhaul in March 1903. Beat that! No. 2106 was built at Gateshead in March 1901 as NER No. 2106 and was withdrawn in Apr. 1951 as BR No. 62365.
