A glorious capture near Beningborough north of York, of an up evening van freight being hauled by ex-North Eastern Rly. Worsdell 'R' (LNER 'D20') class 4-4-0 No. E2372. It is in in the earliest form of BR livery and numbering circa 1948. The D20s were very successful and highly regarded express passenger locomotives but gradually were displaced from these duties to lesser tasks. E2372 was built at Gateshead in Oct. 1906 as NER No. 707 and was withdrawn in Nov. 1956 as BR No. 62372.
