NBR J88 0-6-0T No 68331 shunting at Kirkland Yard, looking east from the footbridge at the west end in the late 1950s. The wagons are mostly 5 plank merchandise wagons rather than coal wagons and the large quantity of round timber stacked to the far right are in Leven Creosote Works and look like either GPO telegraph poles or more likely stacks of pit props. 68331 carries a 62A Thornton Junction shed plate which dates it to after December 1956 and carries a B91 duty number .
