76057 1964-08-05 Radstock

Peter Kerslake says "Radstock was about ten miles south of Bath on the Someset and Dorset line, and was also served by the former G.W.R. line running from Bristol to Frome. It was in an area where coal from a number of local collieries was a mainstay of freight traffic. Radstock was the stabling point for several of the Bath allocated "Jintys" which undertook shunting and banking duties on the coal and mineral workings. 76057 is climbing away from Radstock southbound with a train originating in Bath. The train will climb and pass over '5 Arches', the bridge over theGreat Western line, before climbing towards Midsomer Norton and onwards to Masbury summit."
