Midland Railway-built 2P 4-4-0 No.40504 was shedded locally throughout the 1950s and was withdrawn from Nottingham shed in January 1961. It is waiting at Nottingham Midland on 27th April 1957. An interesting souvenir from its Midland Railway days is the cast '2' power classification on the upper cab side.
