Star class 4-6-0 No 4042 Prince Albert leaves Bristol Temple Meads with an up local formed of a two-carriage 'B' set in 1951, the year it was withdrawn.

Peter Kerslake says "I hope our cameraman had a trackside permit in order to capture 4042 "Prince Albert" setting off from Bristol Temple Meads as he's well past the station limits but he has the sun in the right quarter anyway.

This is a very light duty for "Prince Albert" heading up to Bath and possibly beyond. 4042 has "elbow" pattern steam pipes which were fitted in May 1948."
