4007 1951-06-14 Hereford

Star class 4-6-0 No 4007 Swallowfield Park at Hereford station on June 14, 1951.

Peter Kerslake adds "Emerging from Swindon in April 1907, 4007 had originally been named Rising Star but became Swallowfield Park in May 1937, a year which saw many changes of names as newly built 'Castles' entered service. 4007 was fitted with the 'elbow' outside steam pipes in May, 1947. It no longer has brass beading on the splashers nor the original squared and bulky design of inside valve chest."
