LSWR M7 0-4-4T No 30058 with the 3.41pm Bournemouth-Lymington on 19 September 1954. With a milepost of 93 1/2 this must be very close to Lymington Junction.

Robert Waterman says "This is indeed very near to Lymington Junction - the third road behind the milepost was the headshunt for Brockenhurst down yard but is now part the Lymington branch itself since the actual junction for the Lymington branch was moved to Brockenhurst station. The former junction is now simply the divergence point from the Bournemouth road.
I have never come across advertised through services from Bournemouth to Lymington - this would involve reversal at Brockenhurst whether the route from Bournemouth was via Sway or the old road via Wimborne/Ringwood although it might have been a way of getting a loco and stock from Bournemouth to the branch."
