View northward, towards Gloucester etc.: ex-GW main line from Swindon etc. (also Bristol) to Gloucester, South Wales, Cheltenham and Birmingham, paralleling the ex- Midland Bristol - Birmingham main line. An important Class D freight has been fitted in between all the Summer Saturday holiday traffic, headed by Churchward 2800 class 2-8-0 No. 2855 (built 2/1913, withdrawn 12/62) which was allocated to 89B Croes Newydd at the time.
