2899's driver and fireman have both spotted the photographer and are keen to be recorded on film as they tackle Dainton Bank, just West of Newton Abbot, heading down to Plymouth.There does not appear to be a banking engine at the rear, which is unusual , as one was regularly stationed at the foot of the bank to assist freights to the summit of this 1 in 36 gradient.
