2849 1950s Wednesbury

‘28xx’ 2-8-0 No.2849 blasts its way up the incline out of Wednesbury. The 1912 built engine was shedded at Tyseley until the end of 1959. The leading bogie bolster is carrying three large girders which overlap the wagon so an empty plate wagon acts as a ‘runner’. It would be interesting to know the weight of the load!
