DMU E51275 1977-06-01 Potters Bar
At the very end of their services out of Kings Cross, boy did they rattle!br/br/he destination blind is displaying "King's Cross (York Road)" which may or may not mean the train will dive down to the Widened Lines. These units were based on paper at Finsbury Park but in practice lived at Cambridge where their routine maintenance was carried out. In the still air at 06:00 on a Sunday (especially) morning, hearing set upon set of Cravens starting up at Cambridge depot was quite memorable. Originally the exhaust systems of the Craven units passed through the van and out through the roof; the silencers weren't especially good at, well, silencing.
