30925 1962-05-13 Nottingham Victoria
That's what you call smoke as the two 4-4-0s, 'Schools' No.30925 Cheltenham and 2P 4-4-0 No.40646, prepare to depart for Darlington with the RCTS 'East Midlander' railtour on 13th May 1962. The two ladies seem more interested in watching to see whether the cameraman on the signal ladder will fall off. The ‘Schools’ was chosen by the RCTS for several of its railtours, in recognition of the Society’s founding at Cheltenham in 1927 and a drawing of No.30925 appeared on the front cover of its monthly magazine, the Railway Observer, for many years.
