Some brave soul has done their very best to give Apollo back its true identity with a painted nameplate, its original probably having been lost some while before this picture. The first of the Britannias to go to the Western Region in September1963, following a short spell at both Camden and Stratford 70015 was destined to spend the next three years at Old Oak Common before, like its fellows at both Laira and Old Oak, it joined those Britannias already at Cardiff Canton in December1956. Thereafter, on the Midland Region, poor old Apollo was shipped from one Motive Power Depot to another, spending time at no less than nine of them before withdrawal in August1967
