70007 1960s Crewe North
Whilst the majority of the Britannias were withdrawn either in late 1966, but mainly during 1967, poor old Coeur De Lion suffered the unfortunate distinction of being the very first of the class to be withdrawn, the operative date being in June1965. What prompted this decision is not known to me, this view, from Crewe dates to pre-withdrawal but it dosen't look to be in too good a state here. Delivered from new to Stratford for just a month, 70007 was destined to spend the next ten years at Norwich before going to March in November1961, thereafter being reallocated to Carlisle Kingmoor in December, 1963.
